An afternoon of Chamber Music, featuring Brahms's Piano Quartet in C minor, Op. 60

Pianists Yeeha Chiu and Pauline Rovkah will be joined by members of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra: Alison Peters Fujito, violin; Stephanie Tretick, viola and Adam Liu, cello.
Yeeha Chiu, Hong-Kong-born pianist, studied with Ilona Kabos, Nadia Reisenberg, and Sheila Paige. A graduate of the Royal College of Music and the Juilliard School, she has taught at Juilliard and Duquesne University. Ms. Chiu has performed twice with the London Philharmonic, with Anatole Fistoulari and Sir Malcolm Sargent, and the Vienna Symphony under Christoph Eschenbach. She has appeared as concerto soloist and in recitals throughout Asia and the United States. Ms. Chiu is on the celebrated roster of Steinway Artists. Violinist Alison Peters Fujito received her Master of Music degree from The Julliard School, where she studied with DeLay and Hyo Kang. After graduating from Julliard, Fujito was hired by Gerard Schwarz for the first violin section of the Seattle Symphony, and in 1987, she was appointed to the first violin section of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra by Lorin Maazel. Fujito has appeared as soloist with several orchestra, including the Pittsburgh Symphony. Stephanie Tretick joined the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra viola section in 1980. She earned a Master of Music at Indiana University, where she was a fellowship student of legendary Josef Gingold. Ms. Tretick has been associated with the Aspen and Casals festivals, she collaborated in a recording of Bach's six Brandenburg Concertos. Adam Liu joined the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra as assistant principal cello in 2003. Prior to this appointment, Liu held the position of associate principal cello with the Montreal Symphony Orchestra under Charles Dutoit. Liu has been a featured soloist with many fine orchestras worldwide, including the symphonies of Montreal, Victoria, Beijing, Shanghai, Tianjin, San Antonio, Baltimore, Los Angeles and Pittsburgh. Pauline Rovkah, an award winner of the Pittsburgh Concert Society and the Head of Piano Program at Chatham University, is an active performer and music educator. She is a founder and Artistic Director of Chamber Music Concert series at Chatham University. She performed in various concert series and festivals in Pittsburgh area and abroad. Her solo recitals and chamber music performances have been recorded and broadcast by the Pittsburgh Classical Radio WQED.
