"A Better Life": A Psychoanalytic Exploration of Immigration through Film

Join the Pittsburgh Psychoanalytic Center, the Chatham University Psychology Continuing Education Program, and the Chatham University Graduate Psychology Diversity Committee for a film viewing and discussion of psychological perspectives of the undocumented immigrant experience. This program will examine the interplay between external and internal conflict and oppression. The film "A Better Life" will be shown followed by a presentation and discussion. The main characters in this film experience oppression in the forms of both cultural and state violence. How these experiences of external oppression interact with the internal psychology of the characters will be discussed following the film. Matt Markon, JD, LCSW will be the speaker after the film.
