Constitution Day: Pennsylvania Women and the Suffrage Movement

To recognize Constitution Day and the 100th anniversary of Pennsylvania's ratification of the 19th amendment, the PCWP has invited scholar Amy Cohen to speak about "Pennsylvania Women and the Quest for Women's Suffrage."

About Amy Cohen: Amy Cohen spent twenty years as a middle and high school social studies teacher during which she earned numerous awards including Southeast Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year and a Lindback Award for Distinguished Teaching. Since 2013 she has been the Director of Education for History Making Productions, a documentary film company. Cohen has taught social studies methods at Drexel University, Temple University, and Bryn Mawr/ Haverford Colleges and has written curriculum for organizations including the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, the Library Company, Temple Press, and PBS Learning. Her articles on historical topics and social studies education have appeared in several print and online publications. Cohen holds a BA in history from Brown University and a Master's in History from the University of Pennsylvania.
