Why business and healthcare?

If you're drawn to the idea of helping people get better but can't see yourself in scrubs, working on the business side of healthcare may be for you. There's an economically sound reason to pursue this, too: The Bureau of Labor Statistics projects strong job growth for medical and health services managers. Between 2014 and 2024, growth will reach a rate of 17%, creating 56,300 new jobs. This high demand is driven by the large baby boomer population needing more healthcare in hospitals, group practices and nursing homes; and by the uptick in group practices and the need for managers and administrators to helm these facilities.

This creates opportunities not just for people already working in healthcare, but also for those working in three of the other major industries in Pittsburgh–business, information technology, and communications.

Whether you're looking to make a career move, earn new credentials, or explore new opportunities, Chatham has bachelors and masters programs in the Business of Healthcare that can get you there.
