Frequently Asked Questions
Chatham University Bachelor of Interior Architecture
Are students expected to purchase their own computer?
No, students are given a mobile workstation for use during their time of study at Chatham.
What is the Integrative Capstone in interior architecture?
The Integrative Capstone is a yearlong research and design project. During the first half, students gather information about the latest research and design recommendations for a particular building type and user selected by a faculty member. Using this information, students develop a project program as part of the pre-design phase. Students then apply their research to a design project during the second half of the Capstone. Typically, research is conducted in IAR 470 Immersive Design Research (fall semester of senior year) and the project is completed in IAR 490 Integrative Capstone in the spring semester of senior year.
How long will the program take to complete if I am a transfer student or a Chatham University student with a change in major?
