As soon as your account is created; you have a Chatham email account. This account is your firstname.lastname@example.org and you can access this from any computer that has Internet. All of your email from Chatham will go to this email box. We recommend you check it at least once a day.
You can view email via a mail client such as Mail (Macs) or Outlook. Or, you can access the Chatham Webmail via any Web browser: https://webmail.chatham.edu/owa
This is the Chatham Intranet or internal website. Only Chatham students, staff and faculty and access information from my.Chatham.You can find people on campus; see the menus for the dining hall, and view campus announcements and news. You can also view your student account, grades, course schedule and access Library resources from myChatham.
my.Moodle is the official Learning Management System of Chatham. Faculty provide course material so students can view, download, submit, or discuss the nformation online. Faculty use Moodle to varying degrees, so be sure to ask your professors how they use Moodle. To access, go to my.Chatham and click on the Moodle tab in the upper right or go directly to http://moodle.chatham.edu. Chatham students, staff and faculty should use their regular Chatham username and password to login. Students will see a list of course after login. If you don't see a course, contact your instructor first and then the Helpdesk at 412-365-1112.
The campus portal is a web-based program tied to the student information system. Faculty can use myPortal to track attendance (which needs to be done at least once per term) and view student information. To access myPortal, visit https://portal.chatham.edu/ and click on the Faculty Portal link. You will need to use your CampusVue username and password to login to the Faculty portal. The office suite is installed on all campus computers. In addition, Chatham students, staff and faculty can purchase one copy for home for $15.00 at the Chatham Helpdesk.
SPSS is installed on all campus computers which includes basic, advanced and regression. To use SPSS off campus, users need VPN access. Please contact the Chatham Helpdesk for assistance at 412-365-1112.
Moodle is Chatham's learning management system. Beginning August 2013, Chatham will be hosting Moodle 2.4/2.5, the latest version of Moodle, with the hosting company Remote-Learner. Drag and drop files onto the pages, embedded grading rubrics, and simplified multimedia embedding are just a few of the new features.
Panopto is Chatham's lecture capture and blended learning software. It is cross-platform and installed on Chatham issued laptops. It is also available on the Macs in the JKM Library 24-hour lab. For account requests, please contact the Helpdesk.
VoiceThread is a cloud-based program that allows users to comment on media using one of five powerful commenting options: microphone, webcam, text, phone, and audio-file upload. In addition, VoiceThread now integrates with Moodle so users don't need additional accounts.
Poll Everywhere is an audience response system that uses mobile phones, twitter, and the web. Standard accounts are free, however Chatham has a site license, which allows users an unlimited number of classes, grading and reporting options, response moderation and more. PBWorks is wiki or online collaboration space. Like Poll Everywhere, standard accounts are free, however Chatham also has license, which gives users customization options, page level security and more. For accounts requests, please contact the Helpdesk.
Turnitin is not only a plagiarism prevention tool, it now supports online grading and peer revision assignments. It is integrated with the assignment functionality in Moodle so users don't need an additional account.
