Robert Isenberg

Robert is a freelance writer, photographer and stage performer. He served as Whitford Fellow from 2009-2011. He contributes regularly to Pittsburgh Magazine, City Paper and MSN.com, and he writes the "Playing Doctor" column for McSweeney's about his work as a simulated patient. His book, The Archipelago: A Balkan Passage, was shortlisted for the Graywolf Nonfiction Prize and published by Autumn House Press in January, 2011. His poetry collection, Wander, will be released by Six Gallery Press in October. His sixteenth play, A Stitch in Time Saves Nine, will premiere at this year's New Works Festival. He teaches playwriting at Duquesne University and is working on a book about Laos.
