Chatham University Master of Science in Counseling Psychology
Chatham University offers a vibrant and comprehensive field placement training curriculum. Chatham University's Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) program complete three semesters (9 credits) of practicum and internships. The Masters of Arts in Psychology (MAP) program has the option of completing a 3 credit, one semester practicum.
The field placement opportunities occur throughout Western Pennsylvania region and the city of Pittsburgh at a variety of settings including hospitals, community mental health agencies, private practice, and correctional facilities. Populations served by these sites are infants and parents, children, adolescents, adults, and senior citizens working through the range of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, drug and alcohol abuse, relationship problems, career development issues, eating disorders, and end–of–life concerns. Some of these sites include Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic, Allegheny General Hospital, Gateway Rehabilitation Centers, Magee Hospital, Catholic Charities, and Carnegie Mellon University Career and Professional Development Center.
