PITTSBURGH (December 11, 2012) … While shoppers pick up the last few gifts on their holiday lists, Sabika Austrian Crystal Jewelry founder Karin Mayr and her daughter Alexandra Mayr-Gracik will be giving business women a different kind of gift: the story of how Sabika Austrian Crystal Jewelry grew from a single idea into a global passion. Their talk, entitled “Building an Affordable Luxury Brand through Personalized Home Sales” is a part of the Women Business Leaders Breakfast Series at Chatham University hosted by the Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship on Friday, December 14.
Karin Mayr, the founder of Sabika, had one goal in mind when she started the company: to provide for her family. More than a decade later, Sabika has grown into one of the most respected direct sales companies in the industry. Bringing on her daughter as a business partner, Mayr-Gracik designs two collections each year, developed and hand-crafted by female artisans in Austria and Germany.
Attendees will learn how the roles of mother and daughter provide the context for Sabika’s ability to drive nationwide customer loyalty and help women around the globe achieve financial security.
The cost to attend is $25 ($12.50 for students with a valid student ID). For more information or to register for this event, visit www.chatham.edu/cwe or call 412-365-1253. Sponsors of the Center for Women’s Entrepreneurship include PNC Bank, UPS, Metlife, and UPMC Health Plan along with Baierl Automotive.
