Please join us on Saturday, June 8 at 1:30 p.m. in the Mellon Board Room as we welcome Dr. Lisa Hinkelman ’99 back to campus to serve as our keynote speaker for reunion weekend. Lisa is founder and director of Ruling Our eXperiences, Inc. (ROX), an empowerment program focused on equipping girls with skills to negotiate the challenges of adolescence and will speak to her expertise on issues facing girls and women.
Started in 2006, ROX has grown to a regionally operated program with hundreds of participants in urban, suburban, and rural schools. Lisa has worked with girls, parents, and educators and is the author of Girls Without Limits: Helping Girls Achieve Healthy Relationships, Academic Success and Interpersonal Strength, published in 2013. Lisa has been an invited speaker for several major initiatives, conferences, and professional trainings including The White House Council on Women and Girls, the Ohio Department of Education, and the Society of Women Engineers, in addition to ongoing presentations at various national conferences.
In addition to her psychology and education degrees from Chatham, Lisa has also completed an M.A. and Ph.D. in counselor education at The Ohio State University. She completed training in mental health and school counseling and serves on the counselor education faculty at The Ohio State University. She has been honored as one of Columbus’ “Top 40 Under 40” and as one of “12 Women You Should Know” by Women in Economic Leadership Development.
