Online Pedagogy Series/Managing Online Courses: Guidelines and Tips

Description: The shift from a traditional classroom to an online medium presents a number of difficult challenges to instructors, and this workshop will endeavor to share techniques and tools for assisting instructors in effectively meeting the demands of an online course. Opening a course, engaging students, communication during the first two weeks, discussion participation, feedback, and student communication will be addressed for techniques in achieving industry-defined best practices. In addition, software and tools will be reviewed that can assist instructors in managing the flow of information, participation and feedback for online courses.
