The largest is the Federal Student Employment Program, which provides many employment opportunities for students on campus as well as in the community. These positions are posted through the NACElink Network Database. To be eligible for the Federal Student Employment Program, your student must receive a student employment award as part of your financial aid package. For additional information about the Financial Aid process, please contact the Office of Financial Aid at 412-365-1777.
Career Development also posts part-time positions that do not require financial aid awards. These positions are listed on the NACElink Network Database and advertised through the weekly Career Development E-news.
Insurance
Student Health Insurance Requirement
The University requires that all full-time students, both undergraduate and graduate, carry health insurance coverage. Coverage can be provided by the University sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan or through your own comparable health insurance plan. The University sponsored Student Health Insurance Plan is designed to meet basic health care needs at an affordable cost. Open enrollment takes place at the start of each academic year and closes with the end of the add/drop period. The premium is billed directly to your student account and split evenly between the Fall and Spring semesters. Insured students may also add their eligible dependents to the plan by going online to my.chatham.edu and selecting the “Student Health Insurance” link during the open enrollment period. More information is available through the “Student Health Insurance” link located on the myChatham homepage.
Waiving Student Health Insurance
Full-time students, who have alternate coverage, may waive enrollment in the University sponsored plan by visiting my.chatham.edu and clicking on the “Student Health Insurance” link to complete the online process during the open waiver period. A pending charge for the health insurance premium will be placed on your student account upon registration at full-time status. If you have alternate coverage and you process a waiver before the waiver deadline, an offsetting credit will be applied to your account. Any full-time student who does not complete the waiver process online by the end of the add/drop period will automatically be enrolled in the Chatham University Student Health Insurance Plan, and will be responsible for all premium amounts charged to their student account. More information is available through the “Student Health Insurance” link located on the myChatham homepage.
