IncubateHER 2018 Inaugural Cohort

Camp Copeland

Camp Copeland

Camp Copeland Studio designs and handcrafts modern, functional home goods in glass and wool. Each piece is handmade in small batches in their studio in Braddock, PA. Art for every day living.

My mentors, the Center for Women's Entrepreneurship staff, and other experts in the IncubateHER program have helped me to develop a roadmap to continue to strengthen and grow our business over the next few years. I now have tools in my toolbox to strategize next steps and analyze for course corrections as needed.

CenterPisa

CenterPisa

CenterPisa provides beautifully designed centerpieces on a rental basis for events like weddings, bar mitzvahs, and showers. The centerpieces are affordable and eco-friendly compared to traditional centerpieces like floral arrangements or items that are used only once. Available in designs to complement any theme from glamorous to shabby chic to garden party.

IncubateHER has been an amazing experience. I have not only received helpful mentoring, I have improved my business acumen. All of this has helped CenterPisa to grow from a small idea to a prospering business. I expanded my network and, most importantly, I was held accountable until it became second nature for me to run and grow my own business.

Global Wordsmiths

Global Wordsmiths

Global Wordsmiths is a Social Enterprise the provides language translation and interpretation services, as well as language access consulting and training. Their mission is to create and advance a culture of language access awareness. Profits are used to finance the "Language Access Project" which provides translation & interpretation for selected non-profits, quality jobs & growth opportunities for staff, and assisting service provided in building language access policies & procedures.

IncubateHER has been the single most rewarding decision I have made since launching Global Wordsmiths. The skills I have learned, one-on-one mentorship and individual attention I have received, as well as the camaraderie, practical information, and resources the program has given me are invaluable. I'm so thankful to the Chatham CWE for the opportunity to be a part of the 2018 cohort and highly encourage early-stage female entrepreneurs to apply.
