Kyra Tucker

BIOGRAPHY

Kyra Tucker is an Associate Professor, Chair, and Program Director of the CIDA-accredited Interior Architecture programs at Chatham University. With more than twenty years of professional experience, she has practiced across a range of design typologies, specializing in commercial and healthcare design while maintaining a thriving residential practice.

A strong advocate for accredited interior design education, Kyra holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design from The George Washington University and a Master of Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University. She is NCIDQ certified and a professional member of the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID).

Kyra is actively engaged in national legislative efforts and is a passionate advocate for the licensure of interior designers. She believes deeply in the positive and meaningful impact interior design can have on individuals and user groups. Her work and teaching continue to evolve alongside a growing understanding of universal design principles, with a focus on creating environments that are accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of the people who use them.
