Fill Out Your FAFSA

You’d be surprised what doors and opportunities that filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) could open—even if you think it won’t.

And these days, we’re all about finding opportunities for good news.

We know that filling out paperwork in times of severe stress, like now, may be the last thing on your mind. But it’s so important that you do. Below are some reasons to complete your FAFSA application—and tips to help you on your way.

Why Bother with the FAFSA?

Oh, we’re glad you asked! Here’s the deal: the federal government, states, and schools (including Chatham) have $$$ to offer to students, in the forms of grants—that is money that you do not have to repay. The federal government also offers loans, too. Sound good? The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (known as FAFSA) is the paperwork that triggers all that goodness for you, if eligible. Just complete the FAFSA and add Chatham’s school code: 003244 and we will get an official Financial Aid package heading your way!

ATTENTION PENNSYLVANIANS: You must file the FAFSA no later than May 1 if you want to be considered for a Pennsylvania State Grant.

Fill Out Your FAFSA and Still Have Time to _______.

The FAFSA is quick and easy—it takes the average student and their family around 30 minutes to fill out, according to the U.S. Department of Education's federal student aid website. When you think of how much money you might save toward college, it could be the most important (and profitable!) time you’ll ever spend.
