Middle States Accreditation

Chatham University is an accredited institution and a member of the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE or the Commission). Chatham's accreditation status is Accredited, with a Non-Compliance Warning. The Commission’s most recent action regarding the institution’s accreditation status on June 25, 2026, was to issue a warning, which is reflected in the current accreditation status. Chatham University is addressing the Commission’s requirements and preparing for a follow-up visit in March 2027.

MSCHE is recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education to conduct accreditation and pre-accreditation (candidate status) activities for institutions of higher education, including distance and correspondence education and direct assessment programs offered at those institutions. The Commission’s geographic area for accrediting activities spans the United States. 

Pennsylvania Department of Education

Chatham University is authorized by the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) to confer degrees. Chatham University is not regulated in Texas under Chapter 132 of the Texas Education Code.

Programmatic Accreditation
