Film screening and panel discussion.

What remains of a woman’s right to choose?

U.S. reproductive health clinics are fighting to remain open.

Since 2010, 288 laws regulating abortion providers have been passed by state legislatures. In total, 44 states and the District of Columbia have measures subjecting abortion providers to legal restrictions not imposed on other medical professionals. Unable to comply with these far-reaching and medically unnecessary laws, clinics have taken their fight to the courts.

The U.S. Supreme Court’s groundbreaking 2016 ruling in Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt gives hope that some of these restrictive state laws can be challenged. Trapped follows clinic workers and lawyers who are on the front lines of the battle to keep abortion safe and legal for millions of American women.

Following the screening, stay for a panel co-sponsored by the Center for Women’s Health Research and Innovation at the University of Pittsburgh, featuring:

Dr. Sarah McNeil Medical Director of TEACH, the bay area abortion training program, and Texas abortion provider

Dr. Colleen Krajewski, is a healthcare provider for Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania.

Jessica Semler, Public Affairs Director, Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania.

Panel Moderator: Ash Chan, Program & Outreach Coordinator, New Voices Pittsburgh.
