Global Focus: Conference: Turkey, Armenia and Principles of international Dispute Resolution

Chatham University will host this conference discussing the Armenian question. The panel of experts include Turkish historian and Chatham Fulbright Scholar in Residence Ercan Karakoç; Ronald H. Linden, University of Pittsburgh Prof. of Political Science, who has focused on the lasting impacts of communism on south eastern Europe as well as Turkey’s impact as a rising power in the region; Samuel Calian, former president of the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and scholar in Eastern Orthodox religion; and Ergun Kirlikovali, president of the Assembly of Turkish American Associations and a strong voice in defense of Turkey’s position in conflicts with Armenia. These scholars will debate the complicated issue of Armenians living in Turkey and the historical tension between the two countries and their enthnic minorities.
