COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
A number of COVID-19 vaccines have been shown to be safe and effective at reducing illness and viral spread. To protect our community, Chatham will require COVID-19 vaccinations for all students participating in face-to-face classes or campus activities and for all faculty and staff for the 2021-2022 academic year.  Chatham will allow students and employees with a valid medical, religious or other reason consistent under federal and state law, to apply for an exemption.  Read more.

Updated Campus Mask Guidance
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recently updated their mask guidance for fully vaccinated people directing them that they can resume activities without wearing a mask or physically distancing, except where required by federal, state, local, tribal, or territorial laws, rules, and regulations, including local business and workplace guidance. Following this announcement, the state of Pennsylvania modified their mask health order to match the CDC guidance for fully vaccinated individuals. Per the state order, the state masking requirement will still be in place for unvaccinated individuals until 70 percent of Pennsylvanians age 18 and older are fully vaccinated.

Based on the new CDC guidance and the updated state order, Chatham will continue to require masks inside all campus buildings regardless of vaccination status, and all other campus health & safety protocols are still in effect. This policy will be reviewed over the coming days and weeks based on updated guidance, local case counts and vaccine rates, and in conjunction with other schools, businesses and Allegheny County officials. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
